The look for so much less!!

I am obsessed with the 4th hour of the Today Show with Hoda and Kathie Lee, I watch it every day! Anyways all the viewers have been obsessed with Kathie Lee's nail polish. She started wearing "Khaki Rose" by Chanel and ever since they announced it on air they have been sold out!

Did I mention that this Chanel nail polish cost about $25 per bottle!!!

Moral of the Story.... My look for less came about after spending about 30 solid minutes in the nail section of Target trying to get a substitute for this very popular Chanel Nail Color. And I fount it!!!

This Color is Cover Girl Boundless Color #510 Mauveliciouls and cost only $3.50!!!
I just finished my manicure and I love it!!! This will be my fall/winter go to color!

Don't stop giving...

October came and went in a blink of an eye leaving behind a shadow of pink... Breast Cancer Awareness month is one of the most noticed and supported causes in the United States. Breast Cancer touches each and every one of our lives in some shape or form with over 2.8 million women in the US living with breast cancer today. As quick as October has come and gone, sadly so will the support and fundraising efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness until next fall rolls around.

As we transition into November I would like for everyone, as they continue to support breast cancer and other causes, to shine a light on Alzheimer's Disease. November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness month and with nearly 4 million men and women in the United States currently diagnosed we need to give notice.

Alzheimer's Disease is the most common from of dementia in older people. It is a medical condition that disrupts the way the brain functions and disrupts control of thought, and language. There is no cure for this disease nor a proven treatment to halt the progression, how ever some experimental drugs have shown promise. They are also making great medical strides in the early detection of this disease as well. We need to help in supporting the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Check out to learn more about the disease and how you can help your local chapter.

I am taking part in the Memory Walk and walking in support of my Grandmother on November 13th in Charlotte North Carolina. I have a small team with me and we are eager to make a difference. So don't forget to continue your volunteer and fundraising efforts for the cause that means so much to you!

Don't Stop Giving Thought...

How Divine....

Like many people I have developed a slight obsession with HGTV! Everything from "House Hunters", "Income Property", "Property Virgins", and "Sarah's House" will have me glued to the TV for hours! However my favorite by far is Ms. Candice Olson's "Divine Design." She helps people with design dilemmas turn their space into something elegant, modern, and simply beautiful. I am obsessed with her style, and design concepts. Here is some of her work... I hope it inspires you with your own design dilemmas!

Happy Design!

The CupCake Diva!

I would like to introduce to you The Cupcake Diva aka my mom! This past weekend we celebrated the 1st birthday of our little cousin Charley. My mom made the most beautiful homemade (front scratch) vanilla cupcakes with pink vanilla icing and white sprinkles. They were AMAZING!!! I have been to many gourmet cupcake shops and these by far blew them all away. I can't wait to see what other flavors she will make and would love for her to open her own little cupcake shop in Charlotte!

Charley the Birthday girl and her mom Abby the sewing diva!

Happy Birthday Charley!!

Are you ready for some football???

Football season is officially here in the Carolinas as the Panthers take on the Ravens tonight for their first pre season game of the 2010 season. Then in just a few weeks college football kicks off and weekends will be filled with tailgating, game days, and team inspired fashion! Yes, thats right, if you grew up an SEC girl you know what I am talking about. Football games are the perfect opportunity to sport your team colors in your own glamorous and fabulous way. Weather you are sporting Kentucky blue or Tennessee Orange I have found a few site for some great inspiration. So ladies pop in your pearls, grab your koozies and get ready for a great season!

I came across this adorable online boutique that is based out of Charlotte and owned by two young women. Their site is easy to navigate breaking their clothing down by dresses, tops, bottoms, etc. They then go in to color schemes to help you find your true team colors! Here are a few of their items!

Blue Ruffle Sleeve Dress- Perfect for a Kentucky game!

Teal Woven Side Button Jacket - This would be ideal for a cold Panthers game and its only $25 dollars!!!

If you are looking for something a little more casual to wear on game day Victoria Secret has the answer.

Victoria Secret offers merchandise for almost every major college and they sell everything from t-shirts to underwear, baseball hats and yoga pants.

We must not forget the men in our lives... they love to show their game day pride as well. Vineyard Vines offers not only a college collection of ties, totes, and boxers but they also have an NFL collection as well.
We can't forget the Panthers!!! Check out Vineyard Vines for other great NFL Ties.

Many colleges are now developing their own Official School Plaid. As a former merchandising apparel and textile student at Kentucky I was lucky to be apart of the design process of our Official UK Plaid. As you can see you can find everything from table cloths, koozies, ties, bags etc. Check out your University Store website to see what they have to offer!

Now we cant forget about our puppers!! I found a great site called
and they have all sports teams, great prices and products ranging from dog bowls, team jerseys, collars, and toys. Here is a Tennessee bandana and Panthers Jersey that I am sure Fenway will be sporting this fall!

Happy tailgating!
