Are you ready for some football???

Football season is officially here in the Carolinas as the Panthers take on the Ravens tonight for their first pre season game of the 2010 season. Then in just a few weeks college football kicks off and weekends will be filled with tailgating, game days, and team inspired fashion! Yes, thats right, if you grew up an SEC girl you know what I am talking about. Football games are the perfect opportunity to sport your team colors in your own glamorous and fabulous way. Weather you are sporting Kentucky blue or Tennessee Orange I have found a few site for some great inspiration. So ladies pop in your pearls, grab your koozies and get ready for a great season!

I came across this adorable online boutique that is based out of Charlotte and owned by two young women. Their site is easy to navigate breaking their clothing down by dresses, tops, bottoms, etc. They then go in to color schemes to help you find your true team colors! Here are a few of their items!

Blue Ruffle Sleeve Dress- Perfect for a Kentucky game!

Teal Woven Side Button Jacket - This would be ideal for a cold Panthers game and its only $25 dollars!!!

If you are looking for something a little more casual to wear on game day Victoria Secret has the answer.

Victoria Secret offers merchandise for almost every major college and they sell everything from t-shirts to underwear, baseball hats and yoga pants.

We must not forget the men in our lives... they love to show their game day pride as well. Vineyard Vines offers not only a college collection of ties, totes, and boxers but they also have an NFL collection as well.
We can't forget the Panthers!!! Check out Vineyard Vines for other great NFL Ties.

Many colleges are now developing their own Official School Plaid. As a former merchandising apparel and textile student at Kentucky I was lucky to be apart of the design process of our Official UK Plaid. As you can see you can find everything from table cloths, koozies, ties, bags etc. Check out your University Store website to see what they have to offer!

Now we cant forget about our puppers!! I found a great site called doggienation.com
and they have all sports teams, great prices and products ranging from dog bowls, team jerseys, collars, and toys. Here is a Tennessee bandana and Panthers Jersey that I am sure Fenway will be sporting this fall!

Happy tailgating!

Ordinary chores beautified

How lovely would it be if doing laundry and other daily chores were really this fun!

I always wondered if women in the 50's really dressed like this when they were cleaning... I just look like a hot mess. I wonder if we all brought this 1950's glamour cleaning look back we may actually enjoy our daily chores!

Happy Cleaning!

It's Rush Season!

So like many other sorority alums this time of year is bitter sweet. Rush is in the air and for many of us it is the most wonderful time of the year right up their with Christmas! This weekend the sisters of our Delta Rho Tri Delta Chapter moved into the house and began work week in Lexington. I have to say that I am a little jealous of them and wish I could still take part of the festivities, and I wish them best of luck with recruitment and I know they will make us proud!

In honor of 2010 sorority recruitment I wanted to share with you all Lilly Pulitzers new line of sorority prints they are adorable, sophisticated and very Lilly! Lilly did a great job incorporating our colors symbols and letters to create these designs. I personally love the wallet and scarf and cant wait to place my order!

Happy Rush! "Get Excited!"

First it was He and now their a We... well almost!

A few months back I moved out of my first place and into my boyfriend's condo. Now three months have gone by and things have been amazing... we agree on almost everything except decor. He likes to call himself modern and trendy and I am more classic and simple. It is quite a task to transform a space from bachelor pad into a classic home especially when there is resistance on his end to make changes to his masterpiece. I must admit I have complemented him on his place when it was only his place but now that its ours I feel like there needs to be major overhaul. However, we only have 5 more months left in this condo and then we hope to move into a house with the puppers. Until then I can dream... here are a few photos of the place now and some additional photos of what I would like to see in our future place!
this is our inner courtyard as your can see the sun had fried the beautiful grass!
this is our kitchen and dining area... very modern...

I would love this kitchen -clean and white, stainless steal and lots of jars and baskets and of course glass cabinets.

This is my bathroom and I love it... I would love it even more if we could paint the walls and if it had a linen closet, but its white and clean and perfect! I love the navy towels with the green Anthro hand towels that my mom had purchased for me! My boyfriend even let me hang up photos of flowers and my shabby chic shower curtain rings! Its a joke with him that everything girly has to and can only go in my bathroom!

I am obsessed with this bathroom for the single fact that there is so much storage... right now because there is no storage in my bathroom I keep all my hair stuff in a shopping bag in my closet! This bathroom would be AMAZING!

This is our guest room and I do really love this room. Jacob had already hung beautiful black and white sailing photos on the walls and i was fortunately able pick out the comforter and I snuck in some pink flowers and hang up some curtains. This room has become our storage room and now its Fenway's room as you can see by the dog crate!

These are photos of our living room and our biggest battle! As you can see with the modern carpet and coffee table along with the manly art work and lovely african vases... its not exactly my taste. Here is what I would love in our living area....

I think this room is a perfect combination of masculine and feminine. I am really into navy and white and I love the long drapes in the background!

This is the master bedroom. It is just kinda blah right now and screaming for a duvet cover and some art work!!

I think this room is so beautiful and warm and it has a chandelier... something i have always wanted in my bedroom.

Hope you enjoyed the tour and I will keep you posted on the slow but sure transformation form He to We!

Wish me luck,

Puppy Love

On Friday we welcomed little Fenway Gallagher into our home and hearts. He is a 6 week old purebred weimaraner puppy and we named him after Fenway park, home of the Boston Red Sox. He has surprised us with his intelligence and ability to learn so quickly. We have found ourselves putting all of our time and energy researching, training, exercising, playing and most importantly loving the little guy! Weimaraners have a reputation for being hyper active dogs with a dominating personality. We are working so hard to make sure Fenway does not fall into this stero-type by working with him on socialization, and keeping him very well exercised. We are also challenged in the fact that we live in a condo on the 4th floor which requires us incorporating the idea of holding his business when we are in the elevator going down to the grass outside. He has done excellent with his potty training and everyone keeps saying it will get easier as the days go on... I can only hope!

I never really understood how much time and energy goes into raising a proper pup. When you are a kid its all fun and games having a new dog in the house, never realizing all the time and energy your mom puts into caring for the new addition. We are very lucky that I am home right now full time, able to give Fenway the attention that he needs. I honestly feel like a new mom waking up 2 or 3 times a night to take him outside, then I find myself zombie like for the first few hours in the morning. Not to mention I am always covered in puppy slime, poop and pee! HaHa but I know that it will all be worth it in a few months when Fenway is the best Weimaraner in the city! I am very thank full for all of our friends and family who have given us great training advice and support we could not do this with out them! Here are a few photos of Mr. Fenway and I hope they make your day a little brighter because he has filled our lives with such joy!
